I bought this as it seems to be, by far, the nicest ID card holder i've seen with Orbitkeys usual flare for quality.
However I've had issues with it, primarily around the design of the item that I think will cause issues down the track.
The first is that for some reason my card seems to work quite poorly at opening the door locks. I have tested this with a second identical orbitkey ID holder to the same results. I have tried a colleagues ID card and that does work better so it's clearly my card that is the issue but my card works flawlessly with other ID holders I've used so take from this what you will.
If I slide the card out of the holder a bit then it works as normal so there is clearly some kind of interference on what might be a weakened card.
Second issues I have observed are that getting a car out of the rear is very difficult. So having a card you need to access in the back is not really all that practical if you need to take it out. I have put a second card in there and have taken it in and out around 10 times and it's inconvenient enough that I believe I will stop using the card holder for anything I need even semi-regularly.
lastly, the act of taking the card in and out of the back has already started to damage the threads that hold in the loop where you may attach the retractable buckle. I carry the card on the long side so there is nothing causing any blockages, the loop and the threads are just in the way of a card that, by design, is pressing against…
